YouTube is currently one of the most popular video platforms. From serving as an entertainment medium to providing information and more, the popularity of this app is growing faster than nearly all other video platforms today.
It was recently that YouTube released good news for all its iPhone YouTube premium users. They have launched a testing program called Picture-in-Picture mode which could be a great help and ease of task for many.
It is a mobile feature allowing users to watch YouTube videos on smaller screens while simultaneously browsing other applications and navigating anywhere on the phone. We know that a similar feature already exists in apps like Google Meet and OTT platforms like Prime videos.
The Picture-in-Picture mode though it was previously only accessible to Android users, now all the iOS users with both iPhone and iPad can have access to this special feature. All you need to have is a YouTube premium subscription, and you can browse through other apps while watching the videos without closing the window.
This very feature is available for YouTube music as well.
One of the prime benefits of this feature is that when you close the YouTube app, the screen window appears in a smaller size which you can easily move to any corner of your screen according to your ease and comfort. It can be resized simply by pinching with your fingers until you get the desired window size, however big or small.
The users can return to their video after browsing apps simply by tapping on the video, which ultimately leads you to YouTube. Being a mobile feature, the video played gets paused when the phone is locked. While at the same time, the audio will be played in the background.
Though Apple has inbuilt a feature of Picture-in-Picture mode, YouTube has never made this feature available on Apple. As YouTube has launched pip in iOS as an experimental feature, it will be available only periodically. Hence, this very feature has to be activated manually for using it.
