Facebook introduces brand-new Timeline features

The excitement attached to the launch of Timeline has barely died down and Facebook is all set to introduce a whole new bunch of exciting features.  Apart from enhancing brand visibility these features will ensure better page management.

Switch easily between global and local pages – For global brands managing local Facebook pages, this feature is especially beneficial. From now on, you and your fans can switch between your global page and the local page/s by just clicking the “Switch Region” tab placed below the cover photo. All the pages will reflect the same number of “Likes” but the number of “People Talking About” will vary. With this feature, it becomes easy to ensure that all the pages follow a standard brand content staying close to the mother brand.

Page management with your iPhone – With Facebook’s Page Manager application, admins can check on their page activity from an iPhone or iPad. Apart from that you can also post status updates and photos, respond to comments and access page content directly from your phone. This feature also enables you to receive notifications about people interacting with your page directly to your mobile device.

Measure your post effectiveness – This feature helps you keep track of your content reach and effectiveness by showing you the exact percentage of views received out of your total fan base. Facebook’s recently launched Promote Post mechanism ensures up to 75% visibility for your content. It also ensures that your posts are seen by more people in their news feed. It goes without saying that this feature is a boon for business pages.

Tell your brand story with a Timeline video – Facebook’s Timeline Movie Maker application offers a brilliant opportunity to showcase your brand values and history through a video. The application automatically selects the photos from your profile and creates a video out of it. The photos can be edited if required. This feature apart from being beneficial for your brand clearly indicates Facebook’s approach towards visually-led content.

Schedule your Facebook post – This feature really makes your life easy! It allows you to enter a post and set a time when it needs to appear on your page. This is done using an icon placed near the sharing tool. Posts can be scheduled for up to 6 months in advance with this feature. That’s not all. In case, you select a date in the past, your post will appear on that date on your page.
